Andrew and the Carmex

Let me begin by saying that I do not have a picture. Looking back, I really wish I did but at the moment I did not see the humor in the story I am about to tell.  Friday morning, Andrew got up early and came to my room. He wanted to lay down with me because, according to him, his body likes my bed better and needed to rest there. So, I let him climb up with me since I would be getting up soon anyway. After a minute or two he asked me to please turn on his favorite tv show about animals so he could learn ( he is not manipulative at all) and so of course I did because how can you deny a child the opportunity to learn. As soon as he was settled with his animals, pillows, water, and remote I decided to get ready for work. So, I got up and heard Brian through the monitor. I went to go get him and change him, so I could put him in the swing. I was gone for maybe TWO MINUTES TOPS  when I heard Andrew coming down the hall.  He came in Brian’s room and he looked very shiny. I then noticed he had gobs of white gel stuff on him, it was all over his face and in his hair. At first I did not know what he had done but I could smell menthol. He said, ” Mommy, I need something for my lips but I missed”, I then knew what it was. I went back to our room and discovered that he had taken a Carmex container out of the nightstand and he had emptied the entire thing onto his face and into his hair. It was all over him and the sheets. Just in case you have ever wondered, Carmex does not come out of hair, clothes, or sheets easily because the first three ingredients are all some kind of wax. It looked like I dumped a bottle of grease on his head. It took four baths and two different shampoos for me to get all the stuff out of his hair.  At first I was really upset but then I just started laughing. I should have known it only taken Andrew a minute to get into something. I will take that warning on the Carmex jar to keep out of reach of children seriously next time :)

4 Months Old

Brian was four months old on the 10th. Jason took him to the doctor on Tuesday for his check up and he weighed 16.4 lbs. He is already starting to wear 9 month clothes! Andrew never really wore 9 month clothes, he just skipped from 6 month to 12 month. Our prediction is that Brian is going to be bigger than Andrew, but you never know. We have started feeding him solids and so far he likes everything we have given him but chicken ( I don’t blame him it looks and smells awful).  For the most part, he is just a calm, happy baby. It seems like he was just born, they really do grow up fast.

3 Months Old

Brian was three months old on the 10th. He is the probably the happiest baby I have ever met. He smiles and laughs all the time and he sleeps ALL night.  He did not go to the doctor this month but I am guessing he is about 12 lbs.

Brian- 2 Months Old

Jason took Brian today for his two month check up. He weighed in at 11 lbs and 11 oz and was a little over 22 inches tall.

Meet George

Meet George.  He arrived tonight from the North Pole after making a stop at MawMaw and PawPaw’s house in Arkansas. I read the Elf on the Shelf book to Andrew and he decided our elf’s name would be George. I was not sure if he was really listening while I was reading because he seemed to more interested in getting the elf out of the box but when I finished he told his PawPaw that “his name is George and you cannot touch him and he will hide and you have to find him everyday”. That is a pretty good summary for a kid who just turned three not long ago. I assisted George in finding a pretty easy hiding spot tonight, we will see if Andrew remembers to look for him in the morning.
